[Notice] [2026 YISS] Visa Information for YISS students - COA Applications Open (March 30)

📌 Visa Requirement for YISS

Some students may be required to obtain a visa to study in Korea, even for programs under 90 days, depending on their nationality.

 

1. Contact the Korean Embassy/Consulate

• Confirm whether a visa is required & which type of visa is needed for the YISS program (depends on nationality and Embassy/Consulate's guideline)

2. Visa Information

✔ No visa required: Enter Korea with your passport (Passport must be valid at least 6 months after the program ends)

✔ Visa required

• D-2-8 (Short-term Study) Visa

  • Requires Certificate of Admission (CoA) issued by the YISS office.

• Other visas (C-3-1 etc.)

• Must apply independently (YISS Office provides Letter of Admission and Business Registration Certificate only)

 

3. (D-2-8 Visa Applicants) Apply for Certificate of Admission 

• Apply for the Certificate of Admission (CoA) via the “Visa Application” menu in the application system >>> COA APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN (March 30)

• CoA applications open March 30
  

• CoA ≠ Letter of Admission
